Units
All grade levels, sixth through eighth, will have trimester-long standards that are worked on throughout the year (see below, in purple). They will be focused on both STEAM concepts and SEL concepts, as problem-solving and collaboration are keys to successfully integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.
The units will be cycled, in order to ensure that materials are utilized thoughtfully. The units will focus on three key aspects of STEAM:

- The Engineering Design Process: Design and modeling (focus of 6th Grade)
- Computer Science (focus of 7th Grade)
- Robotics (focus of 8th Grade)
The priority standards, in student-friendly language are:
Standards:
- Students use digital tools to support their use of the design process
- Students develop, test and revise prototypes to solve open-ended problems
- Students understand, create and test automated solutions
- Students repurpose digital resources into new creative products
